ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Providing an outstanding educational experience for residents takes commitment and vision. At Wyoming Valley Family Medicine Residency Program, we meet both those challenges by offering a unique learning experience. You see, our staff and faculty teach patient-centered health care through a traditional-style educational program - and by providing primary care and preventive health services to individuals and families in the community.
This mutually beneficial arrangement creates unique educational options for residents, and offers area families valuable, quality and viable health care choices.
As a fundamental tenet of the program, faculty members cultivate the skills of residents by encouraging clinical reasoning, problem solving and critical evaluation of medical literature, research and physician practices - the practical ingredients necessary for quality physicians. Just as importantly, faculty members encourage residents' personal and professional growth, with an appreciation for the roles of physicians at work, home and within the community.
This unique residency program challenges residents in an environment that is both stimulating and creative, with recognized strengths in offering exceptional educational experiences in the areas of outpatient treatment, preventive medicine and obstetrics, among others.
